The city council of Wellington, New Zealand announced it was unable to contact residents affected by a data breach due to out-of-date contact information, the New Zealand Herald reports. In June, the publication reported the council accidentally released personal information of individuals involved in car crashes within the city. The city council identified eight individuals who were significantly harmed, but police did not have a method to contact them.
