The Waterloo Regional Police Service asked the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario for advice on its use of technology to gather data from cellphones, CBC News reports. The police department has used technology from Gray Key since 2018 as a way to extract data to be used for criminal investigations. Meanwhile, police in Saskatoon will use about 40 body cameras as part of a pilot program to be launched in 2022.
