Advertising technology company Verve Group acquired demand-side platform Dataseat, Ad Exchanger reports. Dataseat’s tech is used by developers to buy mobile data in-house. Verve Group sought to employ on-device data to create advertising cohorts, rather than identity-based advertising. Dataseat utilizes “contextual signals” including time and location that feed machine-learning models for the ad bidding instead of relying on device IDs and consumer behavioral data.
