Axios reports state legislatures in New York and Washington are considering bills to allow biometric scans to verify ages for licensed alcohol sales. Proposed verification would be permitted at bars, restaurants, sporting events and other locales, and potential data collection includes fingerprints or scans of palms, retinas or full faces. New York's bill prohibits third-party sales of any data and requires encryption to be used.
