The U.S. Senate confirmed the nomination of Anna Gomez as commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission, The Washington Post reports. Lawmakers voted 55-43 in favor of Gomez, who will give Democrats the majority at the agency after more than two years of a partisan split and differences over prior nominees. The new majority will help move forward the FCC's policy agenda, which includes work from its Privacy and Data Protection Task Force.
