U.S. lawmakers could impose new restrictions on the FBI's access to information collected on U.S. citizens under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, The Wall Street Journal reports. Lawmakers may decide to require the FBI to obtain a search warrant to review any U.S. citizens' data swept up by the National Security Agency through its collection of foreign citizens' communications data. Privacy advocates support such reforms, however, the Biden administration is lobbying for a full renewal of Section 702.
