The U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce's Subcommittee on Innovation, Data, and Commerce will hold a hearing 27 April focused on federal privacy legislation. It's the latest Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing aimed at building momentum toward reintroduction and passage of the proposed American Data Privacy and Protection Act out of the House during the current legislative session. Energy and Commerce Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., and Innovation, Data, and Commerce Chair Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., said the hearing will show "the gaps that exist in order to strengthen people’s privacy protections on online services and preserve innovation and entrepreneurship."
