The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced its opposition to a new Securities and Exchange Commission rule requiring public companies to annually disclose "material information regarding their cybersecurity risk management, strategy, and governance." Senior Vice President for Cyber, Space, and National Security Policy Christopher Roberti said the new SEC rule "sharply diverges from that mandate and the President’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, jeopardizing a needed confidential reporting strategy and harming cyber incident victims before they can remediate incidents."
