The British Biometrics and Surveillance Camera Commissioner Fraser Sampson said biometric surveillance raised ethical questions that extend beyond current data protection laws, Biometric Update reports. Sampson spoke to the National Police Chiefs’ Council CCTV Conference and said in the keynote address that ethical considerations need to be taken into account for surveillance to be “legitimate and accountable, and not just legal.”
