U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and Chris Murphy, D-Conn., with 11 colleagues condemned SafeGraph and Placer.ai for collecting and selling mobile location data of individuals visiting abortion clinics, saying it compromises their privacy and safety. In letters to the data brokers, the lawmakers seek details on their data collection practices. Blumenthal called the practice “disturbing,” saying it is “a shameful assault on a person’s right to make private health care decisions.”
