TikTok could face a billion-dollar claim in London over allegations the video application, through parent company ByteDance, illegally collected personal information of millions of European children to benefit third parties, Fox Business reports. “Parents and children have a right to know that private information, including phone numbers, physical location, and videos of their children are being illegally collected,” former Children’s Commissioner for England Anne Longfield said. A TikTok representative said privacy and safety are top priorities, adding the company intends “to vigorously defend the action.”
