A study published by Health Policy and Technology found health care organizations may face legal and technical challenges while complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act, Healthcare IT News reports. Lead author of the study and University of Buffalo School of Management Professor Pavankumar Mulgund said health care organizations must comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and “the interplay of the two laws creates some unintended hurdles,” including ambiguity around data covered by the regulations.
