The South Dakota Department of Health launched a web-based statewide Immunization Information System. The system tracks immunization records and provides the DOH with data on vaccination coverage. DOH Immunization Program Manager Tim Heath said the data is centralized and accessed by necessary personnel only. "Our data security is based on industry best practices and the system is monitored continually for threats," he said.
