Seven U.S. senators have called for investigations into "any breach" of Twitter's 2011 consent decree with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission "or other violations of our consumer protection laws." In a letter to FTC Chair Lina Khan, the senators expressed concerns over the platform's new verification services and the recent departure of key privacy executives. They urged the commission to bring enforcement actions against any breaches or business practices, "including bringing civil penalties and imposing liability on individual Twitter executives where appropriate."
