Samsung confirmed a security breach where hackers obtained and circulated 200 gigabytes of confidential data, TechCrunch reports. The leak included source code for multiple technologies and algorithms for biometric unlock operations. The Lapsus$ hacking group took responsibility for the hack, and claimed to steal source code for trusted applets installed in Samsung’s TrustZone environment. The stolen data reportedly included confidential data from Qualcomm, the supplier of chipsets for Samsung smartphones sold in the U.S.
