Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, data from Apptopia shows citizens are downloading encrypted communication applications, offline maps, streaming radio apps and more to keep up with news and information, TechCrunch reports. End-to-end encryption messenger Signal, messaging app Telegram — which offers a manually enabled encrypted chat feature — and offline messengers Zello and Bridgefy are the top five apps in Ukraine’s iOS App Store. Streaming radio and Twitter use has also grown.
