Four parents in Alabama filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Facebook's parent company Meta alleging the company and its executives profited from the collection, storage and dissemination of minors’ personal data, including biometrics, for several years, Biometric Update reports. The plaintiffs allege Meta should pay $32 billion to a national class of 285 million minors for violations of the Sherman Antitrust Act and call for $240 million in damages to be paid to a smaller class in Alabama.
