The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario urged the government to amend proposed employee monitoring legislation to protect employees’ privacy, Law Times reports. In a letter to Standing Committee on Social Policy Chair Natalia Kusendova, Commissioner Patricia Kosseim proposed a requirement for employers to provide her office with a copy of electronic monitoring policies, which could then be reviewed by the IPC. “This small incremental measure could significantly enhance organizations’ levels of transparency and accountability,” she said.
