The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner released its 2022-2023 annual report on privacy and access to information. Information Commissioner Angelene Falk described the data breach statistics from the report as a "wake-up call for Australian organisations" that also showed "how collaboration by regulators and government can assist in identifying and reducing harms." Falk also touched on OAIC funding and an agency restructure that will include the addition of a dedicated privacy commissioner.
