The New York City Police Department's plans to use drones to monitor and respond to complaints about large gatherings this Labor Day weekend is raising privacy concerns, The Associated Press reports. "It's a troubling announcement and it flies in the face of the (Public Oversight of Surveillance Technology) Act," New York Civil Liberties Union Senior Privacy and Technology Strategist Daniel Schwarz said. The act requires the NYPD to disclose impact and use policies for surveillance technologies.
