Norway's data protection authority, Datatilsynet, announced a ban on the browser tool Shinigami Eyes. The DPA announced an investigation of the tool in 2021 following multiple complaints from individuals and concluded the tool has "no legal basis for the processing of personal data." The browser extension was used to "mark" individuals on the internet as either for or against transgender peoples' rights and made this information available to users.
