The U.K. government delayed plans to launch a patient data sharing program, Healthcare IT News reports. Under the program, NHS medical records from general practitioner patients can be shared with third parties. Expected to launch 1 Sept., the program will now go live after certain conditions are met, including an ability to delete data already collected prior to an individuals’ decision to opt out, the development of a location where data is collected and accessed by approved users, and greater patient awareness.
