Multinational hospital chain HCA Healthcare is now facing four class-action lawsuits following a data breach affecting millions of patients, Fierce Healthcare reports. The company said an external storage location where automated emails were formatted was compromised in the breach. While patient clinical information was not breached, hackers stole personally identifiable information of more than 11 million patients. Plaintiffs in one case claimed they "now face a lifetime risk of identity theft due to the nature of the information lost."
