Indian Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar took little stock in Big Tech's stated concerns over the draft Data Protection Bill, the Deccan Herald reports. Speaking at the India Global Forum, Chandrasekhar said the DPB will be "supportive of the startup ecosystem and protect consumer rights at the same time," and comments from companies are "not material to (ministers)." Chandrasekhar also said the draft DPB will be tabled "very soon," aligning with reports of tabling during Parliament's Monsoon Session in July.
