Meta filed a federal lawsuit against an analytics company for allegedly creating thousands of fake Facebook profiles to scrape user data, MediaPost reports. In its lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Meta accused Voyager Labs, an analytics company known to work with law enforcement, of operating 38,000 fake Facebook and Instagram user accounts and using “surveillance software to scrape more than 600,000 Facebook users’ viewable profile information.” Meanwhile, MediaPost also reports a New York resident is suing Twitter in U.S. federal court over an alleged "security vulnerability" that exposed personally identifiable information of more than 200 million users. The vulnerability allegedly occurred between June 2021 and January 2022.
