Members of the Maine Legislature reintroduced a biometric information privacy bill, similar to Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, StateScoop reports. As proposed, Maine's bill would "prohibit private entities from selling (biometric) information" and require written consent from an individual before another entity can acquire that person's biometric data. Like Illinois, Maine's legislation includes a private right of action.
