A Seattle law firm is suing California company Accellion over a December data breach of its file-transfer service used by the Washington state auditor’s office, The Seattle Times reports. The suit, which seeks class-action status on behalf of 1 million people whose personal data was exposed, accuses Accellion of violating the Washington Consumer Protection Act. Meanwhile, a data breach of French cybersecurity firm Stormshield compromised client data and led to the theft of the source code for its security firewall.
