Latvia's State Data Inspectorate announced the results of cookie audits of websites belonging to 26 companies. Various cookie violations were found in each instance, with the most common violation being a lack of user consent mechanisms or assurance that informed consent was obtained. Three types of violations were observed overall, resulting in noncompliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Latvia's Information Society Services Act. The DVI served cure notices to each company with compliance deadlines of 11 April or 12 Aug. depending on the violation.
