Emporia, Kansas’ Newman Regional Health had its email accounts compromised, which resulted in a nearly year-long data breach, InfoSecurity reports. The breach affected 52,000 people between Jan. 26 and Nov. 23, 2021. The health care system reported the affected email accounts contained personal data that included names, medical record numbers, birthdates, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, treatment information and employee information. Additionally, some affected individuals had Social Security numbers and financial information compromised.
