The Jordan Senate referred a draft personal data protection bill to the Public Services Committee for further review and deliberation, The Jordan Times reports. The bill, which would establish a special council to oversee and protect personal data, has been under consideration by the lower House for two years. Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh said the government did not object to sending the bill back to committee with a goal of balancing public interest with the protection of personal data.
