Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications published updated guidance on data protection measures for telecommunications companies. The new guidelines feature revisions to recommendations for pseudonymized data, breach reporting and data transfers. The release comes as a response to the amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information taking effect 1 April. The deadline to submit public comments on the guidance is 25 Feb.
