Italy's Antitrust Authority, Autorita' Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato, fined Google and Apple 10 million euros each for violating the Consumer Code's transparency principles with their acquisition and use of user data for commercial purposes. While both companies were found to provide insufficient information to consumers regarding data use, the AGCM also took issue with Google and Apple over what it characterized as "aggressive practices" with their data processing activities.
