India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will hold a "closed-door" meeting with technology industry stakeholders 19 Dec. as part of the consultation process for developing data protection rules under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, The Indian Express reports. Rulemaking proposals include using an Aadhaar-based verification system for authenticating children's ages before they are permitted to go online and obtaining parental consent, and creating a two-step system for companies to notify customers after sustaining a data breach.
