The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office announced a public consultation concerning "how it regulates the laws it monitors and enforces." The ICO put three documents up for discussion with the aim of improving its regulatory approach and obligations to provide guidance under the U.K. Data Protection Act. "We are focussed on promoting best practice and compliance but, where it is necessary, we will exercise a fair and proportionate approach to enforcement action," ICO Chief Regulatory Officer James Dipple-Johnstone said. The consultation is open through March 24.
