The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office announced a public consultation on how the regulator prioritizes freedom of information complaints. The ICO indicated the consultation was spurred by "limited funding, an increase in FOI cases brought to the ICO and an increased need to support stretched public authorities," which together created "a perfect storm." The regulator explained its new scheme will consider "complaints where there is a clear public interest in the information" under an outlined prioritization criteria. Public comments are due 19 Dec.
