The Global Privacy Assembly issued its first newsletter of 2021. GPA Chair and U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham opened with an update on the assembly's current endeavors and hopes for 2021. European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiórowski offered an overview of 2021's data protection landscape, noting the privacy community will need to "actively contribute to the debate on the use of personal data for the public good." Other articles include updates on the Council of Europe’s Convention 108 and Australia's review of the Privacy Act.
