AdExchanger reports Google announced plans to update Google Analytics' programming to address user privacy and regulatory compliance demands. Google plans to phase out its existing Universal Analytics by July 2023 in favor of Google Analytics 4, which adapts built-in privacy features to data collection from the web and applications. The upgrade also curtails the ability to log and store IP address information. EU data protection authorities have enforced against Google Analytics privacy practices in recent months.
