G7 nations announced a collaborative effort to "advance international discussions on inclusive artificial intelligence governance and interoperability." Following their latest summit, G7 leaders said work on global AI standards will be "respectful of legally binding frameworks" governance and varying "approaches and policy instruments to achieve the common vision and goal of trustworthy AI." Leaders added AI governance has "not necessarily kept pace" with the rise of AI-powered technologies and standards need to "continue to be updated in line with our shared democratic values."
