Privacy advocates are raising concerns over smart television startup Telly, which is giving away 500,000 smart televisions free of charge, TechCrunch reports. The free TV comes mounted with a second display underneath the 55-inch screen, which shows advertisements while a user watches programming. According to Telly’s privacy notice, it collects data about what users watch and their location. However, the company left an annotated version of the notice on its website that cast doubt on if it would delete data belonging to children under age 13.
