The French Presidency of the European Council proposed a compromise on the Digital Services Act to account for European Parliament’s position on children’s protections, sensitive data and targeted advertising, Euractiv reports. Newly proposed text to provisions banning large online platforms from targeting ads to minors states platforms should not process additional information to determine a user’s age. Another addition states sensitive information, including race and religious beliefs, should be processed in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
