A former family intervention officer working in the St Helens Borough Council was convicted of "unlawfully accessing social services records." The defendant reviewed the records of 145 people between 17 Jan. and 17 Oct., 2019 "without having a business need to do so." The employee resigned from the council prior to being convicted of one count of unlawfully obtaining personal data. The defendant was ordered to pay fines totaling 509 GBP.
