The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California dismissed a proposed class action against Swiss game developer Miniclip and Apple claiming data was unlawfully collected from an application. The plaintiffs alleged a game app, 8 Ball Pool, accessed data copied to Apple's "Pasteboard" without consent. Claims were filed under wiretapping provisions in California's law on invasion of privacy as well as a federal stored communications law. The allegations were tossed due to the lack of an established violation.
