The Markup reports it learned family safety application Life360, used by 33 million people worldwide, is selling location data on users to approximately one dozen data brokers. The publication said it learned the information from two former Life360 employees and two previous employees of location data brokers Cuebiq and X-Mode. Life360 Founder and CEO Chris Hulls said the company sees "data as an important part of our business model” that enables core services to be offered for free.
