The European Court of Human Rights ruled end-to-end encryption is essential to privacy within digital systems, GovInfoSecurity reports. The court ruled in favor of Anton Podchasov, who disputed "the Russian Information Technologies and Protection of Information Act requires Telegram to disclose the data of its users."
