The European Commission introduced the bloc's first approved EU General Data Protection Regulation certification system — Europrivacy. The data protection seal was recently approved by the European Data Protection Board and the commission said it aims to "increase the value of (companies and services') businesses and trust in their services." The commission added Europrivacy "encompasses a wide range of data processing operations in many sectors" and can be used to assess adequacy for cross-border data transfers and to select data processors in addition to certifying GDPR compliance.
