Euractiv reports a German citizen brought a lawsuit against the European Commission alleging violations of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The plaintiff claims the Commission illegally transfers data to the U.S. against the Court of Justice of the European Union's "Schrems II" ruling while also alleging insufficient transparency around data processing practices. Europäische Gesellschaft für Datenschutz founder Thomas Bindl, whose group is representing the plaintiff, said the case will act as "a clear sign that everyone must adhere to the data protection requirements."
