The European Commission's Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, led by national consumer authorities, sent WhatsApp a letter with a second call for disclosures regarding its use of personal data. The first call came in January and was replied to in March, but the CPC Network "was not convinced by the company’s clarifications on the concerns raised" regarding WhatsApp’s updates to their terms of service and privacy notice. The company has a July response deadline.
