The Daily Star reports on details of how the latest draft of Bangladesh's proposed Data Protection Act outlines enforcement. Under the latest draft, the government-backed Data Protection Agency will take charge of a register of data controllers and processors in addition to levying fines and bans for violations. The DPA will feature a five-director bench led by an appointed director general. The current draft also allows individuals the opportunity to appeal the DPA's decisions, a provision that was not included in previous versions of the bill.
