The European Data Protection Board and European Data Protection Supervisor issued a joint opinion on the proposal of the European Health Data Space. The EDPB and EDPS presented several “overarching concerns” including the EHDS would provide for “add-on” rights for data subjects already spelled out in the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The regulators claimed the added-on protections could actually weaken privacy rights under the GDPR in the matter of personal data and the secondary uses of data.
