Germany's 1st Cartel Senate of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court referred a case involving Facebook to the Court of Justice of the European Union, TechCrunch reports. The court is in the midst of considering Facebook's appeal of a decision made by Germany’s competition authority, the Bundeskartellamt, which ordered the technology company to limit its data-processing practices. The Düsseldorf court is referring the case to the CJEU as it is "responsible for the interpretation of European law."
